    Understanding Health Metrics

    What is BMI?

Body Mass Index (BMI) is a measure of body fat based on height and weight. While useful as a screening tool, BMI doesn't distinguish between muscle and fat mass. Categories include: Underweight (<18.5), Normal (18.5-24.9), Overweight (25-29.9), and Obese (≥30).

    What is GFR?

Glomerular Filtration Rate (GFR) measures how well your kidneys filter waste from blood. Normal GFR is 90+ mL/min/1.73m². Lower values may indicate chronic kidney disease (CKD) stages 1-5.

    Metabolic Rate Basics

Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) is the calories your body needs at rest. Total Daily Energy Expenditure (TDEE) includes activity. Understanding these helps with weight management and nutrition planning.
