Corrections Policy

CALCULATORiQ is committed to publishing accurate, reliable information. We take errors seriously and believe that how we handle mistakes is as important as our effort to prevent them.

When errors occur, we correct them promptly and transparently. We do not quietly edit content to hide mistakes. Instead, we acknowledge errors and explain what was wrong and what has been fixed.

This approach serves our readers, who deserve to know when information they may have relied upon was incorrect. It also serves our mission of being a trusted source of quantitative information.

To Report an Error

1. Use our contact form: Visit our contact page and select "Report an Error" as the subject.
2. Include details: Please provide:
   • The URL or title of the article or calculator
   • A description of the error
   • If possible, a source for the correct information
3. Allow time for review: We will investigate all reports and respond within 3 business days.

We review all error reports carefully. While we may not agree with every submission, we appreciate every effort to help us improve.

When an error is confirmed, we follow this process:

1. Immediate Assessment: We evaluate the severity and potential impact of the error.
2. Prompt Correction: Errors are corrected as quickly as possible, typically within 24 hours of confirmation.
3. Correction Notice: For substantive errors, we add a visible correction notice to the affected content.
4. Log Entry: All substantive corrections are recorded in our public Corrections Log (see below).

Factual Corrections

When we publish incorrect facts, such as wrong numbers, dates, names, or attributions, we correct the error and add a notice explaining what was wrong. These corrections are logged publicly.

Clarifications

When content is accurate but potentially misleading due to unclear language or missing context, we add clarifying information. These are noted as clarifications rather than corrections.

Updates

When information changes after publication (for example, a company revises its financial reports), we update the content and note the update. This is not a correction of an error, but reflects new information.

Typographical Errors

Minor spelling, grammar, or formatting errors that do not affect the meaning or accuracy of content may be corrected without notation. These are not logged as corrections.
